COURSE OUTLINE
28.8 CEU EOCP Credits
The "Certificate in Waterworks Technology" course is
12 weeks / three days per week in duration. Waterworks Tech takes a practical approach
to learning with classroom instructor led
training which includes hands-on skills learning. With
the components of waterworks construction right in the
classroom, such as fire hydrants, valves, fittings, pipe
and so on, a student does not need to rely solely on
learning from a book. Hands-on practical ability is
considered just as important as theoretical knowledge
when out in the real world of waterworks construction
and maintenance.Occasional field trips to
interesting waterworks locations make this course what some students
refer to as an excellent learning experience. For field
trips you will require safety footwear which need not be
new.
The "Certificate in Waterworks Technology" follows the American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards which are applicable all accross North America. This program has approval number 4196 at the Environmental Operators Certification Program of British Columbia with 28.8 CEU Credits towards water and wastewater operator certification.
